One of the reasons I love theatre and performing is getting to make people smile and laugh, which is also one of the reasons why I wanted to try clowning. I attended Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp in Minnesota this past August and fell in love with clowning! When I was there, I met Brittany Allen (aka Zoe the Clown) and she introduced me to Caring Clowning. It was something I'd never done before, but I was super interested in trying it out. After camp, I reached out to Brittany, and she told me that she was starting to clown at a hospital that, as fate would have it, was a very short distance away from my apartment.
Brittany said that she could train me as a hospital clown, and after several training sessions, shadowing, and working alongside Zoe, I was ready to start! I love getting to spread a little joy, and I'm so lucky and thankful that Brittany took a chance on a new clown and shared this opportunity with me!
I'm so excited for all the smiles and joys that I'll get to share at Golisano Children's Hospital!
I had the absolute privilege of getting to attend Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp this summer! I've wanted to get into clowning for such a long time, and this was the BEST place to start! That week was a life-changing experience for me and I can't wait to see how much "clowning around" I can do in my future.
